The Pink & Purple Egg Project
Because sometimes brown isn’t just brown.
One of our favorite projects at The Happy Henstead is selecting for eggs with exceptionally heavy bloom.
Bloom can transform the underlying shell color into beautiful shades of dusty rose, mauve, plum and purple—sometimes creating an egg that looks almost too pretty to be real.
We’re selectively breeding toward heavier bloom, beautiful speckling and richer egg color, with the goal of producing increasingly remarkable egg baskets generation after generation.
